The recipient for our fundraising efforts for March 2019 is 1 Just City.
1JustCity is an organization founded by four member charities who work together with volunteers like you, toward a city where all are cared for, all have enough to eat, a place they belong and feel loved. From January to March every year, thanks to generous Winnipeggers like you, we also provide an emergency warming centre called Just a Warm Sleep.

Our first meeting of 2018 was great – well attended by current members and we are so appreciative of seeing new faces!!
We started off our meeting with an update from Diana Rasmussen of ALS Society of Manitoba – the December charity of choice. Diana shared with us how much our donation means to their organization-our $8500 funding provided much needed voice recognition aides for their residents with ALS. Joining Diana (right) to hold the giant cheque is Karen Manitowich (left), Laura Kwiatkowski and Angela – ALS Society of Manitoba.
Next, we heard from 3 members who presented their favourite charities:
Wpg Humane Society – Karen McNeill
Agape Table – Carolyn Jarvin
ALS Society of MB- Light up a Life
The chosen charity was Candace House.
We are looking forward to our first meeting of the year! We anticipate welcoming lots of new members so be sure to attend. Be an active participant in determining which of the 3 randomly selected registered charities at this meeting will receive our donations. The best part of our meetings are the networking with like-minded women and learning more about Winnipeg causes. Here is your chance to make a BIG difference in our community.
Here are all of the details:
Date: Tuesday, March 6th, 2018

Jane Meagher, founder of 100 Women Who Care Winnipeg presents our member donations totalling $8500 to Dianna Rassmuson, Executive Director, Brummit-Fealey ALS House supported by ALS Society of Manitoba.
Our final 2017 meeting was fabulous to say the least!! We kicked off our meeting with the announcement that we have finally surpassed the 100 member mark!! We are thrilled and so thankful to CTV Morning Live – Winnipeg and host Nicole Dube for airing a feature on us just a few weeks ago. We noted a dramatic increase in membership as a result- but we still want more members. So keep sharing our posts and spread the good word about our group.
We started off our meeting with an update from Brenda Evans of Esther House – the September charity of choice. Brenda gave us insight into how much our donation means to their organization-our $6200 funding represents 10% of their operating budget. The fact that our donation was unexpected and unsolicited means so much to the residents and staff at Esther House. Joining Brenda to hold the giant cheque is Nicole Duble (left) and Karen Manitowich (centre).
Next, we heard from 3 members who presented their favourite charities:
Wpg Humane Society – Karen McNeill
Agape Table – Carolyn Jarvin
ALS Society of MB- Light up a Life
The chosen charity was ALS Society of Manitoba-Light up a Life campaign.
Truly remarkable meeting – over 100 members and our meeting adjourned in 32 minutes! Efficient and effective – but what else would you expect from a group of Winnipeg women!
Huge thank you to Connie RG Scerbo-Yunyk at St. Mary’s Academy for hosting us and to Panago Pizza for feeding us! #RandomActsofPizza
